About The Artist My boyhood wanderings in the woods and messing about on the farm led me to initially pursue many different avenues. A more creative side, however, eventually resurfaced, and now all of my attention is focused on art. Although no longer looking for my muse, I continue to explore many environments as a naturalist and artist. My paintings express my love of nature and the sea. I paint canvases with oil paint (Occhuzzie Brand) using traditional methods and techniques. I only use natural bristle brushes in my pursuit of staying green and striving to create work that mimics the old masters. These landscapes and seascapes are scenes taken from my travels that I conjure in the studio. They are based on perceptions of color and balance. My strategy is generally to just start painting, exploring color as I work, and see where it takes me.
